Gardner, KS Martial Arts Classes

For training in the classic styles of Okinawan karate, visit Oki Sei Kan located in Gardner, Kansas. Train with Hanshi self defense instructor Steve Stark who began his training in 1970 and owner Sensei George Hansell. We offer group classes for adults, teens and children, and private training is available.

We offer a complete range of martial arts training in the classic Okinawa style of self defense, including Kempo self defense and karate, Tuite Jitsu, Kyusho Jitsu, Ryukyu Kobudo and more.

Our Self Defense Classes Are Offered:

• Monday, Tuesday 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm
• Wednesday 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
• Thursday, Friday 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm

We have competitive rates and no contract is required. Come to as many classes as you like!

Hanshi Steve Stark

• Began training in RyuKyu Kempo in 1970
• Mastered areas of expertise include RyuKyu Kempo, Oyata Shin Shu Ho, RyuKyu Kobudo,
  Tuite Jitsu, Kyusho Jitsu, Atemi Jitsu, Bogu Kumite, Ken Jitsu, and laido
• Personal student of Taika Seiyu Oyata since 1977 to 2010
• Traveled nationally and internationally with Taika Oyata for demonstrations and seminars – Highlighting demonstrations and instruction in empty hand kata and ancient weapons from
  1977 to 2010

Hanshi Bill Gossett

• Began study and training in East Asian martial arts in 1967 at the age of 9
• Mastered areas of expertise include Ryukyu Kempo, Ryu Te, Ryukyu Kobudo ( ancient Ryukyuan weaponry ), Oyata Shin Shu Ho, Tuite Jitsu, Kyusho Jitsu, Atemi Jitsu, Judo, Jiu Jitsu, Bogu Kumite, Iaido, Ken Jitsu, ancient Chinese weaponry
• Personal student of Taika Seiyu Oyata, 1982 to present. Founder of Ryukyu Kempo, Ryu Te, and Oyata Shin Shu Ho in America. Koubushi Gossett resides 15 minutes from Taika Oyata's home and headquarters dojo, 1982 to present.
• Traveled with Taika Oyata since 1982 to various demonstrations and instruction with the ancient Ryukyuan eku

• Has been studying martial arts for 17 years

• Studied Ryu Te and received Shodan ( Black Belt ) from Taika Oyata
• Has trained for ten years under Hanshi Steve Stark and currently holds
  a Yudansha rank in Ryukyu Kempo
• Member of the Ryukyu East Asian Martial Arts Coalition
